With our new collaborative book officially at the printer's, we wanted to share some of the finalized files. Yes, we will continue to post the WIP artwork to showcase not only the talented artists involved but their process of illustrating. We thinks it's fun and fascinating. For those of you who didn't know, the thought behind doing these themed art books originally was to get us (and like-minded friends within the animation community) to do more personal art that allowed us the opportunity to share our art and get out of our comfort zones. We had such fun that we decided to try and do this once a year. And Illustrated Legends of the Old West is our third for the third straight year.
And as we meet new artists at events like Comic Cons and Arts Walks or through Facebook and Twitter, they express an interest in participating. Which is exciting and humbling! Because that gives us the opportunity to have all of our work in the hands of people all over the world. People who wouldn't normally be exposed to our work. This process kind of shrinks the world and allows us as artists to expand our sphere of influence. And I mean ALL the artists involved, not just those of us who started Tiki Machine. Our first book, Monster Mythos, had 18 different artists from all over North America. Last year's Deus Libris had 30 artists contribute, and adding artists from Brazil, the Philippines and France to those who returned from Monster Mythos. This year we have 45 artists from all over the world! Artists from Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, the United States, Brazil, Great Britain, and France!
We thought it would be a great idea to share all 44 names and links (if they have a blog or website). So here you go!
Whew! That's a LOT of very talented artists and all-around nice people. Go check out their sites, stay tuned here for more news about the book and its upcoming release, and have a great weekend. We'll have some new art on Monday for you. Tiki-thanks and see ya!
